GORGO! (A tale of motherly love)
GORGO! (A tale of motherly love) is a small incremental/survival game with a retro look, inspired by the eponymous character from the Charlton comics. Right on time for Mother's Day!!
Help little Gorgo, the Irish Kaiju, protect his mother, Ogra, from the evil British troops. If the time limit reaches 0, Ogra awakens and you win. If her health reaches 0, Ogra dies and you lose.
You can't directly control the characters, but you can use three different special powers. You can also upgrade Gorgo's attack abilities. To purchase these upgrades, you must use Love Points.
Special powers:
-Earthquake (kills everything on the screen)
-Healing (restores Ogra's health)
-Get Love (takes all the Hearts on the screen).
Upgrades:
-Hearts (Small Hearts spawn more often)
-Magnet (All Hearts move quicker)
-Big Heart (Big Hearts spawn more often)
-Speed (Gorgo move faster)
-Size (Gorgo gets bigger)
-Intimidate (Better chance to scare troops when roaring)
-Vomit (Gorgo uses his Vomit attack more often)
-Splash (The Vomit attack shockwave gets bigger)
-Destruction (Flames spawn more often)
-Awakening (Time to win pass faster)
-Armor (Ogra gets less damage per attack)
-Regeneration (Ogra heals hearself slowly)
This game can be played on mobile devices.
I've also uploaded the yyz file, so anyone can modify the project to their liking. I've used almost exclusively drag-and-drop actions, which means there's virtually no code. I know it's a mess. Most GameMaker experts will look at those files and say "Good Lord, what is this". However, I think some of the included assets are pretty cool.
I did everything myself, except for the music and sound effects.
